5 Things to do in Quincy, IL

Quincy is home to Gem City, part of the Underground Railroad, a refuge for the Latter Day Saints, and the first African American Priest in the US. Quincy is not a spot that most would recognize in Illinois, but I would highly recommend it to anyone. There is something for everyone. I love how theRead More

75 Soft Challenge – Round 1

I have had a love/hate relationship with the challenge for a long time. I started and stopped this challenge more times than I could count because I wanted to do this perfectly. Then I decided I would work through the 75 days, accomplish what I could, and work up towards 90-100% accountability. The 75 softRead More

Meal Planning Basics

It is NO secret that I don’t like to cook. If I had a choice (and unlimited money) I would choose to go out to eat. I can’t really explain why I don’t like to cook. I am also not the best at choosing the best foods for me when I do go out toRead More

Here’s to another 5 fitness questions that I have been asked recently. I love to learn and then share with others. 12 Week Year – Round 2

I love setting goals! I love organizing how I am going to reach my goal. If I don’t have goals or things that I am trying to reach I feel like something is off. For a long time, I did set goals or have goals because I thought I “should” have those things. Over theRead More

RIDGE TOP TRAIL - Peoria, IL TBH this isn’t th RIDGE TOP TRAIL - Peoria, IL

TBH this isn’t the trail I wanted to do because the park I wanted to go is closed until the end of the month. This is a quick trail being only .9 out and back. It can a little difficult at the beginning with the stairs but overall I would say an easy trail.

I was debating on if I wanted to go out and I am so glad I went out. It was so relaxing! The trail was so quiet and peaceful.

I remember going with Uncle John before going to see the horses.
I remember going with Grandpa for eggs and toast because we both don’t cook! 🤣
The donuts were so yummy!! They were the only grocery store that put an acceptable amount of sprinkles. 🍩

It’s always bittersweet visiting Des Moines. I have so many good memories of places with places that don’t exist anymore. Yet I love seeing how it has grown and changed.
WEEKEND PHOTO DUMP This weekend was SO good! I w WEEKEND PHOTO DUMP

This weekend was SO good! I went car camping for the first time! I put it all together, and learned a lot for future trips. Met new friends at the campground. Some people were super intrigued that I was sleeping in the car.

Kayaking was amazing. I love being in or around water. There were so many fish hopping out of the water, watching airplanes take off from the airport, and watching a geese family hang out.

Hung out with the family, and met new family!

I’m so glad to be back home though and sleep in my own bed!
Out of the river with my NEW KAYAK!! I still can’t believe it’s mine! I am so proud of myself because I did the whole trip by myself.

I was out there for 2 hours. It was pretty low in a lot of spots. I had to get out once because it would not move.

I know I am going to be so sore tomorrow! I can’t wait to get back out there.
