I can’t believe summer is almost over. I love summer so much. To be honest, I like almost all the season except winter. I don’t like being cold. The summer was not the summer I thought it would be. I thought I would have been outside more than I was. Mentally I didn’t want to do or go anywhere. I stayed inside a lot of the time.
Temperature Blanket
This has been on my bucket list for a while. A temperature blanket is when you crochet or knit or document the weather daily in some form. I am crocheting my temperature blanket is different colors of PINK. Each 10 degrees is assigned a certain color of pink. The hotter the temperature the brighter the pink. Everyday at 3pm I check the weather to get the temperature then put it in my google sheet. Then every month or so I crochet.
Most people start at January 1st, but I like summer so I started on the first day of summer. One thing I am doing that I haven’t seen others do is break it up by months. I have grey yarn that symbolizes the month. July is the 7th month, so I crochet 7 rows of grey. Followed by the rest of the month based by the temperature.
Porch Remodel
We remodeled our porch this summer. By we, I mean my job was to make sure Heisman doesn’t get in the way. We added insulation, changed the flooring, and painted a little bit. Then I brought the full bed up from downstairs and added all the pillows I could take. It is one of my favorite places in the house. I spent most of the summer sleeping out there.
My first solo camping trip
I went to Michigan for 10 days, and I can’t wait to go back. Every day I added so many things to do my list. Michigan is a seriously underrated state. Some of the places that I was looking forward to turned out to not be that exciting, and other things showed up. I can’t wait to go back to the Porcupine Mountains. Doing a backpacking trip never crossed my mind until I went here. Now I can’t wait to go back.
Disc Golf Tournament
I went to my first (and probably only) disc golf tournament. It was a lot of fun, but I don’t know if I will do several days again. I might go for 1 or 2 days, but not every single day. Disc golf is such a crazy sport. The course was made specifically for the weekend. Some of the spots were insane! I did see someone throw a hole in one. On the final day, I followed the last group (best group) throughout the 18 holes which had the defending world champion.
During that weekend, I got some discs for myself. I have gone a few times to practice, but I need to practice more. I am better left handed than right handed. All of my discs are absolutely amazing!!
Summer 2024
This summer was interesting to say the least.
